Q. ARE THE CABINS ON THE WATER?
A. The Lodge is approximately 60 feet from the water with a trolley car to access the fishing and boat docks. For those of us who need the exercise we have a great set of stairs that will get anyone's heart in shape. The longest distance you would have to travel to the water would be only 300 yards. Cabin 10 has the only view of the lake and is always booked first.

Q. DO YOU HAVE LAKE ACCESS?
A. We have boat and fishing docks on 35' waters and a private concrete boat ramp. Our fishing dock is open 24 hours, it includes benches, and fish cleaning table and it is lighted and covered. We bait the dock for bass, stripers, crappie and catfish. We do not allow blood baits or chumming at the dock! REMEMBER THE LIFE JACKETS FOR THE KIDS WHILE ON THE DOCK-WE DO HAVE LIFE JACKETS FOR SALE IN THE STORE.

Q. DO YOU HAVE A BOAT RAMP AND CAN WE LAUNCH OUR BOAT?
A. We no longer launch boats from our private ramp. We now provide a free pass for you to launch your boat at  Uncle Gus' Marina which is across the street from us.

Q. IS THERE A DAILY CHARGE FOR LAUNCHING AND BOAT SLIPS?
A. We charge one flat fee for your boat slip for the duration of your visit. We now provide a free pass for you to launch your boat at  Uncle Gus' Marina which is across the street from us.

Q. CAN WE STORE OUR BOAT HERE?
A. We no longer offer dry boat storage. 

Q. CAN YOU SWIM AT THE DOCKS?
A. We do not suggest swimming at the docks for obvious reasons-you can swim at the boat ramp when not in use. We recommend our crystal clear swimming pool.

Q. HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE FOR A FAMILY REUNION?
A. We can accommodate up to 86 guests. All cabins can be reserved for one family if a deposit of one-half of the total rental is paid up front. Cancellations for reunions require a forty-five (45) day notice on all cabins.  To rent the Reunion Cabin #9, you must also rent a minimum of 3 additional cabins if the reservation date is on a weekend from May through September.

Q. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE CABINS?
A. All cabins have full kitchens, i.e., apt. and full size frigs, and stove, microwave, coffee makers, toasters, dishes, basic pans and utensils. Cabin also includes a dining table with 4 chairs. Queen and/or double beds with all linens are provided in every cabin. Color TV, some have remotes and VCR's, no cable; both Dallas and Waco channels can be seen. The bathroom has shower only, we furnish bath and hand soaps and linens. Each cabin has a picnic table and barbecue grill. We furnish 2 trash bags; dish washing detergent, and coffee filters in your cabin. Additional linens are available at the office at an additional fee.

Q. ARE YOUR CABINS CLEAN?
A. We have a reputation for having the cleanest cabins on the lake! We work hard and are proud to say that we offer cabins that are extra clean with no odors.

Q. ARE YOUR CABINS NICE?
A. Quaint and cheerful!  The reunion cabin has Texas Theme, Cabin #11 has a fisherman's theme
, etc., cabin #6 has a Mary Englebreit theme, #4 is red and white, there are various color schemes of green & white, blue & white, black & white and much, much more.

Q. ARE THERE ANY RESTAURANTS NEARBY?
A. Yes. Restaurant usually close around 8:00-9:00 pm. There are no fast food restaurants unless you drive to Whitney, Clifton or Hillsboro. We hope to get our outdoor grill started this summer.  The menu will have  cold sandwiches, salads, ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, and breakfast. Open on weekends only. PROVIDE TO-GO SERVICE TO BOATING CUSTOMERS.

Q. DO YOU HAVE RV SPACE?
A. Not at this time. The Corp of Engineers has several beautiful parks nearby and is quite reasonable. They are approximately 3 miles from the lodge.

Q. DO YOU HAVE A FISHING GUIDE?
A. CALL US AND WE CAN GIVE YOU THE NAMES AND PHONE NUMBERS OF LOCAL GUIDES. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CALL THEM AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR YOUR TRIP.

Q. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
A. Fish 24 hours a day on our covered & lighted fishing & boat docks;  sunbath or spend the day at the swimming-pool, kids love our play ground, picnic at the covered pavilion that includes a BBQ grill and beautiful view of the lake, rent a movie, and we provide volley ball, horseshoes and washer pitching equipment at no charge. Or take in the local attractions or shopping at the HILLSBORO OUTLET MALL or drive 28 miles to Crawford, TX the home of THE WESTERN WHITEHOUSE. Visit our local attractions for a year round calendar of events in the area.

Q. WHAT TYPE OF BOATS DO YOU RENT?
A. We have 1 pontoon boat.  A CREDIT CARD DEPOSIT OF $500.00 IS REQUIRED. BOAT DRIVER MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 21 YEARS OF AGE, WITH BOATING EXPERIENCE. ANY DAMAGES WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD DEPOSIT. IF THE DAMAGES EXCEED $500.00, YOUR CARD WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE FULL AMOUNT WE DEEM APPROPRIATE.

Q. IS THERE A GROCERY STORE NEARBY?
A.  Mr. K's, a convenience store, is right up the street We have a good supply of fishing tackle for Lake Whitney fishing. We sell ice, live bait, water and misc. items.

Q. HOW DO WE GET THERE?
A. Click on the directions and  printable map button. You can print a map from anywhere in the US. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS ON THE WEBSITE FROM LAGUNA PARK TO THE LODGE. MAPQUEST DIRECTIONS ARE INCORRECT.

Q. IS THE PROPERTY NICE?
A. Once you drive into Rocky Creek you have left the rest of the world. Our property is tree covered and has picnic tables and BBQ grills for picnics and get-togethers at each cabin. We work hard to provide the cleanest cabins and grounds offered at the lake. We don't rent to just anyone, we expect our guests to have fun, but not at the expense of others. Our policy is that you get one foul-up with us or with any of our guests, a second time, you won't be back! This is a family establishment and we want everyone to go home with happy vacation & childhood memories. Come see us, you'll be back!

Q. WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN AND CHECKOUT?
A. Check-in is 5:00pm...check-out is 12:00 noon. If you are to arrive after check-in time, you will need to call us to make arrangements to get into your cabin.  If you do not call, the cabin is subject to be rented after 6:00 pm to another guest.  Your reservation credit card will still be charged as a no show for your entire reservation booked. For an additional fee, you can stay later or arrive earlier. You must communicate this with us 24 hours prior to check-in or checkout to get permission, as this will depend on availability.

Q. DO YOU ALLOW PETS?
A. Yes, but, they must be on a leash, under your control, at all times!! A limit of 2 pets is allowed per cabin. Pet rent is charged, a credit card is required at check-in and you will be charged if there are any damages or extra cleaning required after departing. Pets must be kenneled while in the cabins while your gone. EXTRA CLEANING OR EXTERMINATING WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO POOPER SCOOP AFTER YOUR ANIMALS.

Q. DO YOU SELL FISHING LICENSES?
A. Yes.

Q. DO YOU SELL BAIT?
A. Yes, we have live bait wells for minnows, frozen shrimp and night crawlers.

Q. CAN YOU GET SPECIAL BAITS?
A. You bet! With 7-day advance notice we can special order almost any bait to suit your fishing needs.

Q. DO YOU PROVIDE DAILY MAID SERVICE?
A. We, like all fishing lodges, have what are know as self-clean cabins or housekeeping cabins. The cabins are extra clean when you get here and we ask that you please cleanup and do your dishes and empty the trash, into the outside trash can, before you depart. We do have additional linens available for a small fee for each set. We provide dish washing detergent, coffee filters and trash bags.

Q. CAN WE HAVE VISITORS?
A. Yes, Day Guest ONLY. They must register at the office and pay a daily guest fee. They are charged if they are here for any reason and for any length of time. Whether they visit for 10 minutes or 6 hours, you will be charged. Management reserves the right to refuse access to the property for any reason at any time. THERE IS A LIMIT OF FOUR GUESTS.

Q. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
A. All reservations require a CURRENT credit card to reserve. You have 15 days prior to your arrival date to cancel for all cabins, except cabin #9, (and all cabins reserved with cabin #9), it/they require a 45-day notice. If you made reservations without a current credit card expiration date OR SECURITY CODE, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and re-rent the cabin. RESERVATIONS MADE ON HOLIDAY WEEKENDS, REQUIRING A THREE NIGHT STAY, REQUIRE A THIRTY (30) DAY CANCELLATION NOTICE. ALL GUESTS WILL BE CHARGED FOR ALL NIGHTS RESERVED IF NOT CANCELLED WITHIN THE SPECIFIED TIMES. WE DO NOT REFUND FOR EARLY DEPARTURES OR FAMILY EMERGENCIES.  CANCELLATIONS DUE TO DAMAGES CAUSED BY WEATHER CONDITIONS CAN ONLY BE RESCHUDELED.

Q. Do you offer one night rentals?
A. Yes, off-season or during the week in the off-season. NO WEEKENDS DURING PEAK SEASON. Call for daily rates.

Q. ARE YOU OPEN YEAR ROUND?
A. Yes, we will be open through Dec. this year.  We will reopen in January.

 Q. WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
A.  CLOSED MONDAY.  TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY: 9:00 AM UNTIL 5:00 PM, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: 9:00 AM UNTIL 6:00 PM, SUNDAY: 9:00 AM UNTIL 1:00 PM.   IF YOU WILL ARRIVE AFTER 5:00 PM YOU WILL NEED TO CALL TO MAKE ARRANGEMENT TO GET INTO YOUR CABIN.

Q. IS SMOKING ALLOWED? 
A. YES, BUT, YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE ONLY A VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT. ANYONE CAUGHT THROWING CIGARETTE BUTTS ON THE GROUNDS WILL BE EITHER FINED $5.00 PER BUTT OR ASKED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY AND NOT RETURN. WE ARE VERY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS SITUATION.

Q. ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?
A. MOST CERTAINLY. AN ADULT IS REQUIRED TO BE WITH ANY CHILD WHILE ON THE PREMISES, SWIMMING POOL, DOCKS AND TROLLEY AT ALL TIMES. TEENAGERS, UNDER THE AGE OF 18, ARE NOT PERMITTED TO WATCH CHILDREN AT THE POOL WITHOUT AN ADULT PRESENT.

Q. IS THE PROPERTY CLEAN?
A. WE TAKE PRIDE IN OUR REPUTATION FOR BEING EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN. WE WORK VERY HARD TO KEEP IT CLEAN. ANYONE CAUGHT LITTERING MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PREMISES AND WILL NOT BE PERMITTED FUTURE RESERVATIONS. FINES ARE ASSESSED FOR THOSE THROWING TRASH AND CIGARETTE BUTTS ON THE GROUNDS.

Q. CAN WE GET ADDITIONAL LINENS?
A. YES, AT AN ADDITIONAL FEE. WE RECOMMEND YOU BRING TOWELS FOR THE POOL. OUR TOWELS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE POOL AREA.

Q. HOW ARE THE BOAT SLIPS ALLOCATED?
A. THEY ARE ALLOCATED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS. DOCK ETTIQUETTE: IF YOU SEE SOMEONE’S TIE LINES ON THE DOCK, THAT MEANS THAT SLIP IS BEING USED AND DO NOT PARK YOUR BOAT THERE.
